🛠️ Build from Source

If you prefer to build Nanobrowser yourself, follow these steps:

1. Prerequisites:

2. Clone the Repository:
   git clone https://github.com/nanobrowser/nanobrowser.git
   cd nanobrowser
   

3. Install Dependencies:

   corepack enable # skip if pnpm 10+ is already installed
   pnpm install
   

4. Build the Extension (WXT, Chromium Manifest V3):

   pnpm build
   

5. Load the Extension:

6. Development Mode (optional):
   pnpm dev
   
Load dist/ unpacked manually in Chrome or Edge. WXT updates pages with HMR and reloads the extension for background/content changes. Keep using the same dist/ path to preserve your local extension ID and stored settings.

pnpm zip builds a production archive in dist-zip/ for Chrome and Edge.
